Can anybody tell me, do all Pits lick constantly? spike is like a snake. That tongue is doing 100 miles an hour trying to give kisses.I’m not to fond of dog kisses ( I know where that thing been at) Are they all like that? Spike is very affectioned, loving. Is he trying to say “hey thanks for taking me in”? He is now best buddies with my 1 year old lab, I can see how much they care about one another. If we are not home Spike goes outside in the fenced run and the lab (delilah) goes in her crate. As soon as I get home and let Spike in he runs like crazy to the other room to see Delilah. They act like it has been days, tooooo cute them 2. They spent all the time playing tug of war, most of the time Delilah wins, not sure if Spike just lets her win. When I cleaned out the stuffed animals out of my daughters room hey got a hold of a lot of them, if one of the 2 does not want to play the other teases until he/she gives in and plays. They are to cute together. I don’t know where Spike came from and I was worried about dog agession, well not anymore.Still I sepeerate when no one is home for the safty of all my babies

I got a question. I hear a lot about  blue nose and pink nose Pits. Spike has white and pink but nostril is black. What would he be considered? Not that it matters, just would like to know

U R not kidding when u say they r stubborn, Spike is as stubborn as they come! I don’t have any biting issues, but he is so possesive of his toys! I just thought today that i will have to take treats with me when we go outside and try to train him to give them up for more playing. Crazy dog. He is very good with our cats they are no longer afraid of him either. He is pretty much a good dog, has his moments like we all do. I just keep wondering why he showed up at our door step? We got enough critters as it is. Well, there has to be a reason but I hope he is the last one for a while. The car idea is great but where we live that would no be a good thing to do. Instead I throw frisbees, unfortunatly they don’t last very long,

Hi and welcome. I can’t give advice since I’m a new Pit owner, but I’m glad to chat. We got adopted by a stray Pit a couple  of month ago. It has been very interesting here, we also got 2 labs and 2 cats.Full house.

I have a pi and 2 labs. They get along fine, but! a Pekenise? I would feel sorry for the little thing, not because of agression, because of the fact the pit bulls are hard at play,I hear my Lab crying sometimes. Not sure if it would be a good idea…..

I adopted my pit a while ago, or better he adopted us. I have a daughter that is getting rid off most he stuffed animals, most of them are good toys for the dogs ( I also have 2 labs) I bet lots aft them are available at yardssales. I never had a pit and did not know how destructive they get if they don’t get the exercise, until he started to “eat”my bed.LOL. I got some toys for my labs that have been around for a long time and Spike likes them but for some reason don’t destroy them, BUT yeah here it comes and I bet everybody knew a but was coming.

since I have not the time to take him on long walks, I go out in the backyard with 2 frisbees. I have to have 2 because he woun’t give it up for me to trow again and if I try to take it, it turnes into a battle between us. Sure he destroys the frisbees, but I get a few day out of them and they are not that expensive (cheaper then a new bed) When I went to the dollar store I found I guess frisbee rings? Its like a frisbee with a hole in the middle. It war soooo funny. we went out to play and them things can fly! they are really flixible and I thought maybe the will last a bit longer. What was I thinking?LOL. But I got such a good laught out of it that it was worth the money. So, he goes and fetches the ring, he has to chew it while he is walking, here the thing flippes up and over his head, now he had a halo! lol. he tried to get it off, but he trew it up and it came down and around his mouth. omg I was laughting. A pit with a halo, who would have thought!

I give my dogs (including spike my pit) thick branches of tree. They make a bit of a mess but they are free

When a stray Pittie came around our area, everybody was scared. “Spike” finally came around us memorial day weekend at the cookout. Very nice, sweet good with other dogs and cats.

We would put him in the garage but leave to door open because we didn’t know if he belonged to someone in the neiborhood. Not long after that we found a notice from the dog catcher on our door that someone turned us in.”keep ur f… Nose out of my beeswax” I thought. We think its the same person that have a terrier mix which has bitten my daught twice, we call the dog demon dog. That is the most anoying dog I have ever met. We can’t go in our yard without that stupit dog barking the whole time and the turn me in? what a crock of shit. when Spike first came around he played with that dog, did not hurt anybody. I hate people, my animal are everything to me because they will alway be happy and loyal. If I could move to a tall mountain I would, I would be happy with my animals and my family. Just because he is a Pittie he is dangerous? They have not met my young female lab, now she is bad when something is not right and she sees something, she is the first to bark and have her hair stand up. Spike never barks unless the other dogs start. First I thought he couldnt bark. People are ignoran and stupit

I read the pitties sometimes turn around 8 month to 2 years. I too have a male (lab) and they get along, I just would watch very carefully

I’m very sorry this happened to you family. Now she will watch you from above.I believe they never leave us. when I had to put my girl down due to cancer it broke my heart. After a while I started to look on the shelte pages to see what was out there that needed a home.As I sat there  looking at the dog with tears in my eyes, a familiar smell fille the area. It was the smell of my jesse.I know most will say I’m nuts, maybe a little, but I did not imagine the smell. So, your little one will be whatching over you. Whenever you are ready to give another dog a chance go to the pit bull rescue. Some of these dog never find a home.

Have you ever watched  “its me or the dog”? It was addressed about these walks and how to deal with that. Try and look up the show online. They might have an advise column

I too just took in a pitty, he is older though. I have a youg female lab mix. they play together like that. Very hard play, lots of teeth. Lets face it, it is play and your little dog don’t have a prayer due to size. I keep a close eye on my dogs (have 3 now) when they play. one moment they play the next the might fight. my advise would be, let them play, when you see they are getting carried away seperate them right away. I could not tell you if you have a “bad” pitty, I don’t know enough about them, but I have expereince and common sence enough to know when it is getting to the point were one will get hurt, and you know its not going to the pitty.Did you take him to obidience training? Might be a good idea. good luck
