The paws are hard to fix. well, try this.  wrap up his paw tightly (not to tight) and put on a dog boot. Tape that to his leg.Have you ever seen videos were dog have them booties on? they dont like walking on them. In some stores or at the vet you can buy calming pills for dogs. Might have to resort to that so that he will stay down as much as possible. Good luck

I just adopted my Pit Bull, have no idea what his background is. I know he is sweet, loving and funny. I also have 2 other dogs, Lab mixes. Even before I had the pitty, I took my dogs away from the door before I opened it. At times I put them out side in the fenced dogrun, letting them in after they calmed down and knew whoever came was ok.I told the people that come, sit down and let them come to you with me watching carefully. Now I have 3 dogs and that makes it hard, the packmentality kicks in and I’m not taking a chance. All the dog get put away unless the person at the door knows the dogs well. To prevent the dogs from fighting due to the exitement, they get seperated. It is better to be safe then sorry. In this case it is the owners fault that this happened, it should have been clear to anyone in the family that you can’t open the door like that. It is called procaution! Still I fell bad for you, especially the dog who is going to pay the price. Take pictures of the new fence, get a mussle anything you can do to prevent this from happening again, bring lots of proof to the hearings and maybe you will get luckky and get another chance.Good luck

I get big “dog”bone from our farmers market.Even after they chew the meat off, they play and chew the smaller pieces for weeks. Also, I found that kid slippers, the big one with animal heads ect on them work well as tug a war toys.I cleaned my daughters closet and whatever was not used wars for the dogs. The slippers are still in one piece! Raw hide is not good for dogs, I give my dogs the itty bitty ones when I leave the house as a treat not to stay ocupied.

I don’t have many stories about Spike yet. See, he found us, starved and  full of ticks. Very shy, but the hunger brought him to us. He has been with us for 2 month now, I could not find a good home for him, so he is staying I guess. I don’t know nothing about pit bulls, but I’m learning fast. I learned that Spike was abused, he has the scars to show and when we raise our voice or yell at the other dogs he runs. He does nothing wrong, I wish my other dog were so good behaved. One time I had to yell at him to calm him down, bad mistake. He was so scared, he peed himself. That was the last straw. Nobody is getting him. nobody will be good enought! He is a clown, teasing my lab with toys so that she will chase him and play. She does the same thing to him. When we play with him we have to bring 2 toys, he will not give up a toy unless we throw another one. He sleeps beside the bed where my husband sleeps, but he is always with me. He will have a good long life with us, who ever let him go was an idiot. this dog is the best, don’t people know they have feelings? Well, hopefully I will be able to post some stories of him down the road. For now he is happy to be loved and save.
