Participanthi rebecca! i’m here the whole day!!!! i take her out and she does her business, when we come back in she does her business again. the bad thing about this is that she gives me this adorable face, like she knows she’s doing something wrong, but she knows i just can’t punish her and does not care. .
you know…I rescued Cookie from this old man who wanted to raise her to fight, he says that female pits are the best fighters and I just feel so sorry for her that I’m just unable to even raise my voice to her. i’m sure she knows this and takes advantage

ParticipantI don’t know if your dog is fixed, but mine is 1 1/2 yrs and was not fixed until last week. i told the lady at the animal services that he used to be so good, but out of the blues, he started to act a little aggressive toward other people (not us) she said that dogs can smell a female in her period from 6 miles away and that is why they get a little crazy, that after his surgery, he would start to get back to normal little by little

Participantthanks for giving me your opinion Rebecca! it really breaks my heart to see him scratching so desperately. i guess it is dry skin, i read in one of the posts, that olive oil inside the food might help. i’ll try that hoping he likes it!!

ParticipantSince I don’t have a fenced yard, my pits are inside the house, but every time i’m going to sweep and mop (which takes me around 30 minutes) I chain my dog in the back yard with a 15ft chain. i do this only for the time i have to sweep and mop!!
my back home neighbor told me last week that if he sees my dog again, he will shoot him.
he even called animal services on me because he says he gets scared every time he sees my dog (AS I MENTIONED, TIED TO THE CHAIN IN “MY BACKYARD” AND ONLY 30 OR LESS MINUTES). and the officer from animal services told me that all it takes for a person to report you is to say they got scared.
my dog has never attacked him and as Smart0811, has never paid attention or looked at that man.

Participantahhh sounds familiar!! same thing happens to me. my parents are constantly warning me about my dog. i have four kids and the youngest is 3. i mean if i had the chance to adopt another dog.. it would be a pit bull again… as a matter of fact i just adopted another pit.
i have never seen sweeter dogs than these!!
i strongly believe it is not the breed, it is the owner and if you are responsible, this breed is like no other with small kids. my kids do with my dogs whatever they wish!! incredible, they ride him as a horse, chase them, throw them on the floor… you name it, they’ve done it!! i’m always around because even if they are good dogs, they are still animals, but believe me when i say they are the best.something else, get yourself some web pages (including this one) and every time someone talks to you bad about pits, just email them the page. I’m sure your mom is afraid because she hears many things, just like mine, but share with her more information about these dogs and i’m sure she’ll understand there is a reason why they are called NANNY DOGS!!

Participantmy pit is 1 1/2 yrs. I had him since very little, around 5 weeks old. I saw this man at walmart who was selling it and i worried about someone buying for fighting purposes, so i decided to stay with him.
he has always been very sweet, specially with my kids (4) they do to him whatever they want and he would not even dare to complain.
the thing is that around 5-6 months ago he started to get very aggressive with anyone who would dare to ring the door bell in my house. he even try to bite someone already.
i had made an app. around three months ago to get him fixed, he just got fixed yesterday.
when am i going to see a difference in his aggression problem?
