Puppies will start responding to operant conditioning almost immediately, but it is probably best to wait until they are at least 8 weeks or more.

Be that as it may, personal attacks will not be tolerated. You can get your point across without them. If you can’t, then you need some work yourself. Or find a different place to post.

Yes, they are dogs for smart people. But just calling someone dumb doesn’t really help the matter when they have posted on this forum for advice and help.

Behavioral science even applies to humans. The next person who is having problems might not bother with this forum or post here at all because they have seen how people are treated who have the nerve to ask for help and advice.

You catch more flies with sugar.

Being a smart person doesn’t give anyone the excuse to be an ass.

    Criminy,

Appreciate your passion, but please tone it down. You can get your point across without being mean and resorting to personal attacks.

The AKC does not, but the UKC does. The AKC just won’t call anything a breed with a “pit” in the name. The American Staffordshire Terrier was the APBT just under a different alias at the time of inception, and even now after seperate breeding can be pretty close to the APBT.

The APBT still retains it’s “working dog” roots, while amstaffs are better at showing, which follows the emphases of the separate clubs.

Very true. I’m just assuming the APBT was the topic of discussion. If we’re talking about pit-bull type dogs, that’s a different story, as Erica mentions.

The only way to be 100% sure is to get a DNA test. Anything else is just a guess.

If it’s never happened, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I’m sure my dog would love toilet paper too if he could get at it. He sure loves plastic bags.
