I assume you mean the surgical procedure? Here is some info, https://dogkneeinjury.com/is-my-dog-a-candidate-for-tightrope-surgery/
But I would find a vet your trust, and listen to them.
mattParticipantI’m so sorry to hear about your problems. I’m not a vet and can’t really give medical advice, but allergies certainly aren’t the only thing that could cause that problem.
I’ve found some other resources:
mattParticipantWelcome Angela!
mattParticipantPulling and tugging are different things. And with enough training, they can know the difference. You just give them positive reinforcement when they are tugging on a tire in the place you want them to, and don’t if they tug on the leash.
Takes patience, but it works.
mattParticipantThis is nature of many cops these days. Shoot or taze first, ask questions later. It’s not just dogs that are victims.
mattParticipantThe two previous comments were deleted because of profanity.
mattParticipantWelcome.
Just a quick note: please do not post in all caps. Everyone just assumes you’re yelling. I went ahead and edited your comments so they are normal sentance case.
Thanks.
mattParticipantDoes she have plenty of chew toys to keep her busy? I would suggest a kong that you can fill with a treat.
mattParticipantWe’re hearing more and more negative things about rawhides.
Bully sticks seem to be the most recommended nowadays.
mattParticipantOf course people shouldn’t be frightened of them. But they are, and that’s the reality of the day. The other reality of the day is that if something does happen, even if it’s another dog’s fault, the pit bull will always be blamed.
It shouldn’t be that way. You’re right. But it is. And until that changes, it’s probably not a good idea to let your pit bull run free anywhere, even if it is at a dog park.
mattParticipantDon’t use Science Diet. It’s mostly corn.

mattParticipantBauer is a pit lab, and we haven’t had any problems. If anything, he’s a bit too frightful of things, and way too submissive (pees all over the place when meeting new people).
mattParticipantAs long as you socialize him with different situations and with other dogs, he’ll probably be just fine.
Neutering him is a good idea.
