My dog has had similar symptoms for the last week and a half or so. She’s not on a raw diet, I’m trying to see if there are any dry foods that she’s ok with before I take that step.
When I adopted her a few weeks ago, the vet said that new allergies can develop easily in sensitive pit bulls. Could it be that your dog has developed a new allergy to something you’re feeding her, that was ok before?
Cortisone cream and Benadryl are helping keep my dog comfortable while I try and sort out what’s wrong with her. She weighs 46 lbs, and the vet suggested I give her a Benadryl with breakfast and another with dinner. Unless your pit bull is abnormally small, that’s a safe amount. You might want to try a non-drowsy version though, otherwise your dog might just sleep all day!
