Me and my big mouth has now got my local news station wanting to interview me. This past Sunday in my local newspaper there was an article that really upset me about pit bulls. I live in Lima, Ohio where we have BSL. I hate it so much because it is not fair. In sunday’s paper someone complained about the 5th and 6th ward of the city residents have more than one pit and let them run loose and don’t muzzle them. Well the 5th and 6th wards are on the south end of town and about 90% of them are criminals. The point is the reporter did no research on the breed they just went on what the guy said bashed the breed not the owners. So I sent a email to the local news station and they want to interview about my views on the breed and my email to them. EEEKKK! I know its for the good of my dogs but I’m just nervous. I guess someones gotta do it so why not me.

Thank you Raisins mom. However if you would like to see what they put on the news about it you can view it on http://www.hometownstations.com
It is the one Not all pit bulls are vicious. I was a little upset with the station because it aired on the 11 pm news on a different station at 10pm they gave a teaser of what was to come at 11. In that they said that there was a local little boy attacked by a pit bull then on the flip side there was my story. I had no idea that a kid was attacked when they interviewed me I was so pissed. I do think however it went over ok not as well as I had hoped but not horrible either. That story is on their website as well. Take a look at both even give your opinion on there if you want. I told them about this site and how great it is. The attack on the boy was totaly the owners fault and it is clear in the interview of the boys father it was and the father wasn’t crazy and yelling or demanding anything so it was not over dramatic like most attack articles are. I hope I didn’t let our pit community down last night.

    Hi Amber,
You told the truth and stood up for the breed, that’s what is important. The media seems to have aired the stories in a manner they felt would create the biggest rise rather then in a way that would most clearly represent the information. Pittie owners like me appreciate that you publicized your respect for the breed for who the dog is not what someone can try make them into through abuse and neglect. I think you did great!
