My family just recently adopted a pitty-mix puppy. He is now about 4 months old. We also have 2 other dogs a 9 yr old JRT, and 1.5 yr old who knows what. We lost our boxer mix in Oct, and I don’t know how many times I was asked if he was a pitbull. My daughter had friends that weren’t allowed in the house because of him, and I would get dirty looks from people walking down the street. He was very misunderstood, and was labled because of his looks, size, and deep bark… which I think is why I fell in love with the pitbull breed at first. I decided I would one day adopt a pitbull. We ended up adpoting one sooner than I thought we would. I was actually looking for another boxer when we found Remington our pitty-mix. My husband saw him and fell in love, and took me over to him. I was a bit hesitant because we do have 2 other dogs, and our JRT has other/new dog issues. I knew he was going to be a huge responsiblity. After talking it over we decided to take him to see how it would go. I have absolutley fell in love with him. He is already enrolled in obediance classes, and I work with him everyday. So far he has been very easy to train, and is pretty repsectful of my JRT and her boundries, but he doesn’t give up on trying to be her friend, and he is gaining some success. He gets along great with other dog, she is still young and playful so she is his buddy. I want him to get his GCCA, and I just want to be a good owner, and hope to change the minds of some people who think they are bad dogs.  He is so lovable and sweet, and I am so gald we brought him home. He is also very rowdy, and as expected has a very high energy level.
