I got the same thing at work this week. We just adopted a Pit that I’ve been walking at the shelter for MONTHS.
Most coworkers have been really supportive as they’ve seen pictures and some have seen us interact.
A couple however just shake their heads.
I feel sorry for them because they believe the hype. Sadly before I met vanilla, I was the same way. She’s really opened my eyes and I’m glad she’s now ours and out of the shelter!
Wendy and I were talking about Vanilla at Petsmart today. She was great with people and other dogs.
We agreed that it would be vey hard to part with her so we decided that we shouldn’t continue fostering her through the holidays.What if we fostered her for a few weeks and then someone wanted to adopt her? It just wouldn’t be fair to her or us… so we adopted her today!

Our Foster had a nylon Hamilton Collar on when we brought her homefrom the shelter. When we gave her a bath, I noticed that the collar had been rubbing the front of her neck raw.
I went to Target and got a chain collar for about $5.00 and it is working out really well. Her neck can breathe and I can give her guidance through the collar. She seems to like it a lot better.
I got a face wash when I took the old collar off!
