We got our APBT Louie a 5ft tall pin that was very large, you could adjust it to the shape that you wanted, and Louie never once cried while in it. I decide to buy him this type of cage (from Pets-Mart) because #1. I work alot and didn’t want him to be in a small space for long periods of time. #2. It is fully adjustable and you can put it pretty much anywhere. #3. Even though it is large, it is still wonderful to have when you take your Pitty on vacation with you. Now that Louie is 4yrs. old, he no longer needs the cage, he gets free roam over the house. Just teach while they are young what is allowed, and what isn’t allowed. They are an extremely smart breed and will figure this out very quickly. Good Luck!

Louie doesn’t really need training as much as socialization with other dogs. He knows that im alpha and listens to me wonderfully. I can have him off leash with other dogs roaming around and he will sit and stay right by me and not move a mussel. It’s not until another dog comes up to him and gets in his face, that he will start a fight. He is 100% trained and gets along GREAT with my moms toy poodle max and grew up with a border collie that was literally his best friend and they NEVER even growled at one another. Even if he sees another dog out the window, he will just sit there and growl until I tell him to stop. I don’t think it is a dominance issue either, because he will fight female dogs as well as male dogs, and size doesn’t matter to him, little or big. I believe he has dog on dog aggression but cant find a trainer in my area that’s decently priced that will take on a dog aggressive APBT. I’m just worried that if I get another pit-bull, that will mean 2 APBT mentalities and that will equal trouble.

I also have a dog aggressive APBT, but he is only aggressive to dogs outside of our pack. He’s been neutered since the day we got him at 3months old, but he still developed aggression issues around the age of 3yrs old. I’m currently looking for a trainer in my area to help me break him of this aggression because I just want him to be able to feel calm around other dogs and now so defensive and tense. He is perfectly fine with our toy poodle, Max, running the house hold, and he grew up with a border collie also, who was his best friend & we NEVER have problems with him and our other dogs. But, I don’t think neutering your dog is going to 100% fix his aggression. You’ll probably have to either get a trainer, or dedicate to training him yourself.
