Don’t get him fixed now!!! He is only four months old. You have to wait until they are at least six months old.
aschlaufParticipantYea!!!
My 4 month old pit was bit hard enough on the nose by a Yorkshire to cause a bruise and my dog rolled to his side to say “I give up”. We actually took our pit outside to meet the yorkie because they are neighbors and we want to socialize him. The neighbor blew it off but if our pup had done that we would be in trouble. It really bothers me!!!aschlaufParticipantHi BrunoDog,
Pit Bulls are not supposed to have docked tails. If I remember correctly, if an APBT’s tail is docked they cannot be registered or papered (correct me if I am wrong on this). Some get their tails docked if an injury is sustained and it is medically necessary. I have also heard of APBT getting docked for reasons necessary to be a fighting dog but once again I am not sure of this.
Ultimately, there should not be any real health concerns related to the docking if it was done properly. However, your pit will not get to leave welts on your legs or knock glasses off your coffee table! 🙂
aschlaufParticipantI do not plan on breeding as I have no inclination to. This is no offense to people that do. My family has breed two litters of Laso Opso’s and Airedale retrievers to great homes. As a side note, what is a good age to neuter a male? 6-7 months seems too young!
aschlaufParticipantThat is sad but also hilarious!!!
aschlaufParticipantI will never take a dog to a “dog park” no matter the breed. The dogs are unsupervised and too energetic. People should exercise their dogs prior to going to a park rather than relying on the park for the exercise. All you end up with is a bunch of hyper, overexcited dogs asking for trouble.
aschlaufParticipantWhat are you feeding her?
