Hi,

You gave me some great advice about making eye contact when trying to teach stay, which is working well.

I was hoping you would have some ideas about how to keep my pit, Jeune from being so bored all day. I put her outside in the morning which I usually have to put her on a leash to do or I would be dragging her through the house and from under beds (she is a chewer so has to be outside.) What has worked for me is her puzzle ball which lets out food but it only lasts about 30min and her favourite is when I hide treats in the yard; when I do this she doesn’t even come to the fence to watch me leave. I have a flirt pole on order as I think she will enjoy that good work out in the morning but she doesn’t like to play with chew toys alone only with someone or another dog. Oh, she does love to knock over her water bowl EVERYDAY and move it from one side of the yard to the other. I have tried really heavy ceramic planters full of water etc but she just breaks them eventually and if they don’t break she chews them up; however she never does this in front of anyone. I just don’t know what to do. I want her to be okay with being outside, even when I am home (if I am home and put her out most of the time she sits at the door and waits for me to let her in.) She loves the dogs next door but I don’t know if it is safe for them to be left alone together unattended all day (they are a lap mix puppy and an english mastiff.)

Any help would be appreciated.
