training an older pit?

i have an issue with my 9 and half year old brindle with him being a little to high strung, in fairness he wasnt properly trained when my husband got him (ive only been zeus’ mommy for 5 years).he really is such a good boy  he behaves around us minus some listening issues but when we envite people over they think we let kujo out lol because he tries jumping on them and licking them he wont listen to me or my husband. then the other day we had family over and he peed on the floor in front of them 🙁  horrible experience they probably think we have the dumbest dog ever lol  i need to know if theres any techniques even at his age to get him to behave a little bit better?  thanks 🙂
