Starting a non-profit in Orlando, Florida

Hello all my name is Alexandra. I am new to this site as I just stumbled across it this evening. My reason for the post is this: My friend and I live in the Central Florida area (Orlando to be exact) and we are wanting to start a non-profit organization for Pitbulls in an attempt to educate, adovcate, and hopefully rescue pits in need of loving, permanent homes.
