New pit/beagle owner, not sure what to expect.

I got a four month old male pitbull/beagle mix yesterday and I’m not sure what to expect yet. I live in a studio apartment and I’m a full time college student with a job. I have some friends in the area that are willing to take him out when I can’t and there’s a dog park down the road for him to play at. I’m just wondering what I’m getting into here, what I can expect from him, and what I need to do to make him the best dog possible. He is absolutely adorable, and has had no problem with new people. He’s very cuddly. I got him quite a few toys to play with/chew on for while I’m gone during the day. He was in the apartment for 8 hours today, with a friend who came to let him out and play around a bit about half way through and only one shoe was destroyed. I’m not a first time dog owner, I’ve grown up with dogs, but this is my first pit. Just need some help!
