Whenever anyone comes over, they know they will be bombarded by my dog. He gets super excited anytime anyone comes over and wants to jump up and get lots of love. Most people don’t like it and I don’t know how to get him to stop. I tell him down and he will but 2 seconds later he does it again.
Thanks 🙂

She would jump on me because it was her way of getting my attention; giving them your back and not paying them any attention will let them know it’s not ok. Once they have stopped turn around and pet him. Do this over and over again everytime he tries to jump.

Our dog started doing this but we took the advice of turning our backs on her when she does it and walk away. After she calmed down we would praise her and give her a treat. She soon realized that we would ignore her jumping on us but treat good behavior and we haven’t had a problem since.

I’ve gotten to the point where I ask guests to text me prior to ringing the door bell so I can put Sammie outside. Once my guests are here for awhile, she will calm down (somewhat) but continue to sniff, kiss, nudge & want to sit close by. If I find any info out I will certainly send you another comment! Good luck friend!

My 8 month old Blue Nose Pit bull thinks that when someone has the nerve to ring our doorbell she must bark loudly, run to the front door, gets aggresive (not mean~just aggresive) and holding her 70 pound frame back resulted in my pulling a ligament in my back. The only person that Sammie “the bull” will listen to & mind is my 25 yr. old Son. He commands her to get back from the door & calm down. I do the same and she becomes even more excited. Its seriously bothersome & embarrasing! I put her outside and she shows off by jumping the height of the sliding glass door, barking & letting it be known that she is there! I was once told to knee the dog when he/she jumps on anyone….but that could result in an injury as well! If you discover any tips that have helped you- please pass them onto me!!
