We recently adopted what we were told is a “mini” pitbull. We have had her since 7 weeks and she is now 5 months old. She weighs 26lbs. She has had 2 episodes of what I believe are seizures. The first occured when she was approximately 2 months. Her symptoms were an unsteady gait, some unresponsiveness, letharargy, involuntary urination. The first episode last about one hour. By the time we got her to the vet, she was almost back to normal. Today, the second episode has occured. Only this time it was worse. Much greater unsteady gait, she peed on the couch. She did respond and recognized us. We again took her to the vet. Blood work was normal, urinalysis was normal. All they could really say was watch her? If it happens again we could consult a neurologist. Also, we are certain she did not get into any human medications or anything toxic.

Im wondering, if perhaps it may be something genetic? Im concerned because this episode was worse than the first. The information I have found on minipitts is very limited…if thats indeed what she is? Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. Gem has been such a joy. We just want her to be well!
