I have a 3 year old pitbull that no matter what we do we cant keep in our backyard during potty and play time. We have a 7ft fence so she was jumping the neighbors fence. We then ran the 7 ft along their fence and she learned to climb the tree by the fence. So my husband cut the trees. Then she chewed through the fencing on the gate and climbed through. We doubled fenced the gate and then most recently she has begun going under the fence! We don’t know what else to do. We think she was abused at one time because she is the sweetest most loving dog but when she gets out if our neighbors pick something up she becomes aggressive. We have to figure something out we cant have our neighbors living in fear of our dog. We are all completely in love with her so we don’t want to have to get rid of her but were running out of options! Please help!!!!!

I think you should consider electric fencing, or electric collars. Its not abusive to the animal, you can adjust the feel of the shock and everything like that. So every time she tries to escape or climb a fence or anything like that, just shock her and she’ll identify the shocking with the fence. And soon enough she’ll know its not ok. If you completely disagree with that option, try getting a leash so she can’t escape, I obviously don’t know the size of your place or anything like that but just putting a leash in the ground or on a tree and that’s her play time would be just a fun as letting her run around. Another thing to is try to identify why she wants to get out of the yard so badly. Hope this helps!
