Just wanted to introduce myself and my new Pit pup.  I got him almost a week ago and I LOVE him so much already.  He is almost 6 weeks old and he is doing great.  I look forward to getting LOTS of advice and help raising my little guy.  I have a 6 year old Pug as well and they seem to be getting along thus far.  Can’t wait to get to know more Pit owners on here:)

Awww, thanks.  You both have gorgeous pits!  I am so excited.  I love my boy so much already and I have only had him for a week now.  His personality is awesome.  How old are yours and tell me more about them:)

Herman is 3 years old, loves people, is good with kids, and is an enthusiastic kisser. I’m looking forward to hearing more about your lil’ one.

I was wandering something…Zeus is 7 weeks old now and I don’t know exactly when to start walking him on a leash.  He has been doing really well with potty training and the no bite/no chew commands.  Is he too young to start the leash training?  My pug is almost 7 years old and he is horrible when it comes to manners:(  We didn’t really work hard with him.  I definetly want Zeus to be a good boy especially b/c he is a pit.  Any suggestions?

By the way, I love the name Herman!  I also love how many kisses I get from Zeus too, I am sure my company won’t take to kindly to it, but my motto is “if you don’t like my pets, don’t come to my house!”

Opinions vary. Personaly, I think about 9-12 weeks old is good. As to people coming to my house, I feel the same way. My dog is not going anywhere, visitors will have to deal.

Unfortunately, I must admit that I am quite nervous about my boy.  People are so against them due to all the negative media hype that I want him to have good manners to prove everyone wrong.  I hate how people act and what they say when you tell them you got a new pitbull pup.  It isn’t the pit’s fault, it’s the people that make them that way.
