Pit bulls as Service dogs

I have been a pit bull breeder and trainer for over 20 years now. I train the puppies i produce to be assistance dogs and sometimes guide dogs. I belive they make such great service dogs because of how loyal they are and their eagerness to please. please let me know what you think of pits as service dogs or if you have ever met a pit bull service dog

Contact your local UKC or service dogs of america. They should be able to send you in the right direction.

I think having a pit as a service dog is a good idea. However I live in Ohio and if some of the people around here seen blind man with a pit walking down the street they would cross the street or heck even report him. Because even though that dog is doing a good deed and is a good dog it would still legally have to be muzzled and on a steel leash no longer than 6ft. That in itsself is so sad. I know I break the law when I walk my dogs but I'm not going to make them look like idots and bullies just because some idoit said that they are ALL mean vicious dogs. Mine aren't and I know that. I took them to the Dog Warden's in my county to get their licenses and fill out paper work for the dog park and everyone there fell in love with them even the deputies. The man in charge told me that if no other dogs are in the park then they can be muzzle free. So I ONLY take them when no one else is there. They still love it because I don't have a very big yard for them to run. So I praise you for what you are doing I just hope that one day everyone will accept pits like other breeds and you see just as many service pits as you do labs and other breeds.

I have a pitt bull service dog that i self trained to pull my wheelchair as i can not walk that far too many back problems the school system here seams to think pitt bull's CAN NEVER BE OR WILL NEVER BE SERVICE ANIMALS well i proved them wrong when i went on to 6:00 news the school thought they could tell me i couldn't bring her on campus well they got told i could SHE IS BY LAW A SERVICE DOG EVEN THOUGH SHE'S NOT REGISTARED (there ain't one required nor can you obtain a certifiedservice animal certificate from the government) when i got mercedes it was cause she was loving and kind and great with kids and other animals but it was to pull my wheelchair and those other things were just a plus training half done but i didn't think of all the crap i'd get for choosing a pitt bull and her bread wasn't even a factor when we got her it was her.SO TO ALL THOSE OUT THER ONE MORE VICTORY FOR BITT BULL'S and if you go to channel 13 KTNV UNDER YOU ASK WE INVESTIGATE CLICK PITT BULL'S AND THE CCSD THERE WILL BE MY STORY TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK
