I do much volunteering, including a county animal shelter. I would say 90 percent are pits. I have done my "studies" on the breed for the past year. My main questions is: Can I adopt a pit and incorporate him/her into my household which already exists 2 Chihuahua's and 1 Cat? The cat is dog friendly. one of the Chihuahuas (male) would make friends with the new dog and the second Chihuahua may protest at first. So if the Chihuahua acts defensive around the new pit, will the pit react? I have been on a search to rescue the perfect pit, but the ones at the county usually have an "unknown history". Is it smart to adopt from a rescue where the dog has been in foster home? I've been constant searching the rescues in my area for a while, but none of the dogs "fit". I am definately being patient for the perfect dog. I am also looking for a older dog or even a Senior.
