Quarantine and COVID-19 with Your Pit Bull

While the social distancing we are encouraged to do comes with a lot of inconveniences, disruptions, and in some cases, job loss, having a lovable dog as part of your household is a blessing. It can get lonely out there, especially during  these times. Dogs are great for handling loneliness. And the extra downtime for some can be an opportunity to reconnect with their canine companion. Here are some things to keep in mind, along with activities you can still do.

Kong No Longer King?

We recently got a new dog, after being being dogless for a few years, and one of the first things we bought was a Kong. I remember them as indispensable. Fill them with treats and/or peanut butter, and it would keep our pit bull busy for at least an hour. We would get a good six months of use out of before we might start thinking about replacing it.

That's what I remember, at least.

Hear is a picture of our current Kong, after only 1 month of use.

Honor the Dog that Passed Away

ForeverBark - You are not alone. It's hard to lose a friend and companion. This is true with dogs, and in some cases, losing a pet can cause even more grief than losing a fellow human friend.

It's compounded by the fact that many don't understand what you're going through, and cast judgement or ridicule. After all, it's "only and animal."
